XO Boats is set to make waves at Boot Düsseldorf 2025 with the world premiere of its fully aluminum adventure yacht, the XO EXPLR 44. XO to cooperate with Seakeeper Ride for their new underway stabilization system

XO Boats is taking pioneering strides in the European boat market.

XO Boats and Seakeeper, known for their innovative gyro stabilizers, are starting a collaboration with their newest product, Seakeeper Ride.

“We are among the first in Europe to bring Seakeeper’s newest product within reach of boaters,” says XO’s Erkki Talvela.

XO is thus a pioneer, offering Seakeeper’s new stabilization system, Seakeeper Ride, as standard equipment for all XO boat models.

The XO technical team has tested Seakeeper Ride’s suitability for various XO boats.

“Seakeeper Ride gives the deep V-hull, typical of XO boat models, excellent lateral balance,” says Talvela.

Seakeeper Ride is the first-of-its-kind Vessel Attitude Control System (VACS) that stabilizes the boat while underway.

Seakeeper Ride outperforms other self-leveling systems on the market and is completely automatic, providing increased safety, control, and comfort. It is installed outside the boat, below the waterline, replacing traditional trim tabs.

Customized, proprietary sensing hardware and sophisticated software understand how the boat behaves across all three axes and deploy rotary blades to counteract pitch, roll, and yaw.

The result is a considerably smoother driving experience, making boating in rough conditions more pleasant.

Seakeeper Ride perfectly aligns with XO’s ideology: XO Boats keep going when others stay in port.

Finnish boat manufacturer XO Boats unveils a new surprise model: the adventure yacht XO EXPLR 44. With this aluminum adventurer inspired by superyachts, XO’s mission is to bring the premium material and naval architecture to adventure yachting. The XO EXPLR 44 is the first adventure yacht launched by XO. Made of 10/5 mm marine aluminum, the yacht can be equipped with 3×450 hp or 2×600 hp motors, reaching up to +50 knots in speed.

The interior design is inspired by Nordic aesthetics, without forgetting luxurious touches and extra comfort. In the front you’ll enjoy everything you’d expect from an owner cabin of an exploration yacht: a large double bed, shower compartment and good headroom with ample light, space for changing and stylish detailing.

The aft cabin has the option of a comfortable atrium, two single beds or a large double with its own head. Together with the additional bunk in the pilothouse, the EXPLR 44 comfortably accommodates up to 6 people overnight, making it the perfect adventure home on waves.

”We believe that we have created something unique again by placing the second suite under the aft deck. No other yacht in this class seems to have an innovation like this!” continues Kantola.

Providing an inviting shelter or an open-air ambiance, EXPLR 44’s air conditioning and heating ensure the comfort. There is space for solar panels on the roof, along with rails for roof racks to accommodate your bikes and sport gear. Sunbeds in the bow and aft transform into perfect lounging areas, when you want to relax and enjoy a cocktail after exploration.

MCC Marine Southampton to become XO boat dealer in the UK – “The design and quality of the boats make the brand a perfect match for our premium product range”

Offshore capabilities, exemplary strong aluminium hull and good sound isolation make XO boats even more appealing in the UK market. Expectations for collaboration are high.

Finnish aluminium boat builder XO Boats has signed a reseller agreement with MCC Marine Southampton. MCC Marine is a family-owned and operated company based in the South West of England. It also represents other high-class boat brands such as Rupert, Sur Marine, and Finnish Nordstar.

The company’s director Craig McCarthy is excited about the collaboration. He says he appreciates the high level of Nordic boat design and technical know-how and confesses to having admired XO Boats for several years.

“XO has consistently developed its product range to meet the market demand for high-performance, clean-lined sports cruisers,” he says.

“The exceptional strength and sea-keeping capabilities of the XO aluminium hull, coupled with the high sound isolation, enhance the boats’ appeal in the UK market.”

McCarthy believes that the design and the quality of XO Boats makes the brand a perfect fit for the MCC Marine’s premium range.

“XO’s outboard-powered, premium sports cruisers that reflect Nordic heritage are exactly what we’ve been looking for,” he said.

The first models of the XO Boats have already arrived at MCC Marine, and boats will be available to customers at the beginning of the 2024 season.

“We have identified XO models well suited to the UK market and aim to develop the XO Boats market penetration already achieved,” says McCarthy.

“The feedback on the brand has been extremely positive so far.”

XO Boats launches a Limited Edition model to celebrate the new DFNDR A8 series

  XO DFNDR A8, was introduced at the Cannes International Yachting Festival in September. As the first full aluminium XO, this modern walkaround boat marks a milestone in XO’s product development.  

“We are proud to have been able to combine aluminium and high-end design to find and create the right methods to produce these aluminum boats with excellent price-quality ratio,” says  Rabbe Nerdrum, Sales Director of XO.  

 In DFNDR A8, military-grade marine aluminum has taken the form of a sleek, modern daycruiser. The now-released Limited Edition model features a unique turquoise interior and hull accent color and is topped with €14,000 worth of premium gear such as a Simrad 16” chart plotter and Mercury 300 hp V8 engine. 

 “The boat can also be equipped with two 225 hp and one 450 hp motors, which makes it able to reach up to over 50 knots in speed”, says Nerdrum.  

In addition to an exhilarating ride, the DFNDR A8 Limited Edition also offers outstanding onboard comfort. It has a built-in toilet and a refrigerator, panoramic glass roof, and the Softtech decking on all floors and sunbed areas on the bow.

Finnish boat manufacturer XO Boats takes on a new frontier by launching its first entirely aluminum-made boat, the fiery and agile XO DFNDR A8. Made for trailblazers and serious boaters, this practical speedster is the perfect companion for the ones with active lifestyles.

The XO DFNDR A8 is a modern, enclosed walkaround T-top boat made of 10/5 mm marine aluminum. The boat can be equipped with 2×250 hp and 1×450 hp motors, reaching up to +50 knots in speed.

“We wanted to create a boat with XO’s edge, durability, robustness, and lightness for the sportboats segment. During the design process, we took a close look at boats of different categories, from rib boats to powerboats, and pondered how we could combine all the best features of action-made boating to one aluminum-hulled craft”, says XO’s CEO Erkki Talvela.

XO DFNDR A8 features several intelligent design choices for multipurpose use. The raised foredeck serves as a platform for sport fishing or can be covered with a comfortable sunbed. The carlike windshield goes from the deck level towards the glass roof, giving both UV-light protection and fantastic panoramic views. Seating is set for 8 passengers in three rows, with all the seats facing forward. Pilot and Co-pilot seats can be chosen as full shock-absorbing seats to keep pilots in control, even at the roughest conditions.

The XO DFNDR A8 also has space for overnight stay: the head and a berth for two under the foredeck. A RIB-boat style bumper is set around the boat for ultimate protection and comfort.

Combining modern, Scandinavian minimalism with Italian-inspired design and the best aluminium alloys out there, the XO DFNDR A8 is a completely unique boat with no match from anywhere else.

“When we began the design of A8, our goal was to create a boat so stylish that you wouldn’t believe it’s full aluminum. We are proud to have been able to combine aluminum and high-end design – we pushed our creative abilities to find and create the right methods to produce aluminum boats like this,” says Jaakko Kantola, Design Lead for XO Boats.
